Our History
In 1982, Kathi Bonamici Vidrine and her three daughters landed in Lake Charles with very little money and no family nearby — and an unrelenting will to succeed. She started selling shrimp roadside in Leesville, LA, and became known as "Kathi, the Shrimp Lady."
As the business grew, her brother Billy Bonamici joined to help manage it, and they bought a shrimp dock and purchasing plant in Hackberry, LA. Years later, local fisherman William "Bill" Vidrine joined Kathi, and together they opened Steamboat Bill's Seafood Market — eventually two locations in Lake Charles.
The rest is the reputation you already know: real authentic seafood, cooked the way it's supposed to be.
